Completion of Large-Scale Renovation of the Dojima Kanden Building (Osaka Head Office of SEKISUI CHEMICAL)

  Kanden Realty & Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Kanden Realty & Development”) and SEKISUI CHEMICAL CO., LTD. (hereinafter “SEKISUI CHEMICAL”) have today completed a large-scale renovation of the Dojima Kanden Building, the Osaka Head Office of SEKISUI CHEMICAL, which commenced on March 11, 2023*.

  Following the renovation, the Dojima Kanden Building has been reborn as a building conscious of ESG and the SDGs, providing a workplace that balances both ease of working and job satisfaction and enabling each employee to demonstrate their abilities and continue taking on challenges. This initiative is based on Kanden Realty & Development's management philosophy of “We aim to realize a sustainable future through the creation of reliable and comfortable community infrastructure” and SEKISUI CHEMICAL’s vision of “Innovation for the Earth (in order to realize sustainable society, we support the basis of LIFE and will continue to create ‘peace of mind for the future’).”

Key points of the large-scale renovation

  • Exterior design inspired by water, the origin of SEKISUI’s name, to contribute to the creation of sustainable town and community development in Nakanoshima as a new landmark of the water city Osaka
  • Reduction of lifecycle CO2 emissions by extending the building’s lifespan
  • First tenant building over 30 years old to receive the highest rating in CASBEE Smart Wellness Office Certification
  • Creation of a workplace that balances ease of work and job satisfaction
  • Use of more than 20 SEKISUI CHEMICAL products, including perovskite solar cells and interlayer films

  Kanden Realty & Development completed this large-scale renovation of the Dojima Kanden Building as a model case of renovating an office building into one that is conscious of ESG and SDGs while maximizing the use of existing stock and keeping tenants in place. Going forward, the company will continue striving to become a “leading zero-carbon company in the real estate industry” by promoting the renovation of aging buildings as it takes on the challenge of creating a sustainable future where each individual can shine.
