Cooperation in the Japan Pavilion for the " Expo Milano 2015"

Sekisui Chemical Co., Ltd. (President: Teiji Koge, hereinafter called "Sekisui Chemical") is cooperating in the Japan Pavilion at the " Expo Milano 2015 (hereinafter called the " Expo Milano") for a period of six months from May 1 to October 31 this year.

The Expo Milano is adopting the important theme of "sustainable development", and will receive an estimated 20 million visitors at this unprecedented expo, which will introduce the themes of industrial traditions, creativity, and reformability concerning food.

This is an opportunity to engage with the possibilities of a new world by confronting the communal issue of "Is it possible to assure the people of the world a thoroughly stable, healthy, suitable, and sustained food supply?" on a global scale, based on the theme of "Feeding The Planet, Energy for Life".

The Japan Pavilion at the Milan Expo will broadcast widely to international society the attractions of Japanese food culture, and aims to establish a "Japan brand" bound up with food. Further, we will also present the nature of Japanese contributions to the problems of global food supplies and farming, such as the problems of food supply assurance and its poverty and famine concomitant with an increasing global population.

Sekisui Chemical will use an approx. 1-minute video to collate and introduce Sekisui Chemical Group technologies and solutions in agricultural fields at the Japan Pavilion, such as the employment of unused energy sources such as earth thermal and solar energy, etc.
