SEKISUI CHEMICAL CO., LTD. Registers as a TNFD Adopter

SEKISUI CHEMICAL CO., LTD. (President: Keita Kato; hereinafter “SEKISUI CHEMICAL”) announced that it has adopted the recommendations published by the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD)*1 in September 2023, and it registered as a TNFD Adopter*2 on January 5, 2024 to express its intention to disclose information going forward.

SEKISUI CHEMICAL Group recognizes the importance of assessing and understanding how its corporate activities depend on and impact nature, and reflecting the results in its management strategy (see “SEKISUI Environmental Sustainability Vision 2050*3”). In the growth strategy of our medium-term management plan “Drive 2.0” (FY2023-2025), we have strengthened our efforts to find solutions that do not create trade-offs with respect to nature and other environmental issues, in order to achieve our long-term goals for all environmental issues.

SEKISUI CHEMICAL Group has participated in the TNFD Forum since July 2023. In the TCFD/TNFD Report 2023 released in September 2023, we conducted a trial analysis based on the LEAP approach*4 advocated by the TNFD, and disclosed the results of the risks and opportunities that we understood and recognized at that time.

In order to contribute to the realization of a nature-positive society, SEKISUI CHEMICAL Group will continue to disclose its initiatives in accordance with the recommendations further announced by us. In addition, the SEKISUI CHEMICAL Group’s long-term vision “Innovation for the Earth” is in line with the direction of nature positive. By creating and expanding the market for sustainable products that enable us to make such contributions, we will strive to solve environmental and other social issues and grow as a company. We will continue to support the basis of LIFE and create “peace of mind for the future” in order to realize a sustainable society.
