SEKISUI CHEMICAL achieved outdoor durability of 10 years equivalent ahead of the rest of the industry through an original “sealing, film formation, materials and process technology,” creating a 30 cm-wide roll-to-roll manufacturing process. This manufacturing process has been successfully used to produce film-type perovskite solar cells with power generation efficiency of 15.0%.

Currently, SEKISUI CHEMICAL is aiming for practical application with the establishment of a manufacturing process for 1 m-wide rolls and the further improvement of durability and power generation efficiency, and is accelerating development leveraging the Green Innovation Fund of the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO). In addition, for early implementation in society, we are conducting development in cooperation with various related parties such as the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, West Japan Railway Company, NTT DATA Corporation, and JERA Co., Ltd., aiming for commercialization in 2025.
