On August 19, Sekisui Chemical Co., Ltd. (President and Representative Director: Teiji Koge, hereinafter called the "company") held its opening ceremony for its chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) compounds plant (SEKISUI SPECIALTY CHEMICALS (THAILAND) CO., LTD., hereinafter called "SSCT"), which began operations in June, at the Hemaraj Industrial Estate in southeast Thailand.

As well as selling the CPVC compound as the "Durastream" brand, it is planned to expand sales of mainly the raw materials for heat-resistant pipes in India and the Middle East, where construction demand is expanding, using the environmentally-friendly compound products developed by Sekisui Chemical.

A total of over 100 people attended the ceremony, including local politicians, trading partners, and those connected to the Sekisui Chemical Group.

After a Buddhist ceremony by nine priests, President Keita Kato of the High Performance Plastics Company offered the following greeting as representative of Sekisui Chemical: "We are going to win orders from Thailand, the Middle East, and ASEAN through a manufacturing that is trusted by our customers. I would like everyone at the plant to supply good-quality products always with safety first".

Next, the assistant governor of Rayong Province and the regional director from the Ministry of Public Health in Map Ta Phut offered their congratulations, and both called upon their desire to promote business using an awareness of the environment around the plant.

Subsequently, following an equipment startup ceremony and after a plant inspection and commemorative photograph of the attendees, the venue moved and a lunch party was held.　

During the lunch party, Executive Officer Yokura said enthusiastically that he "wanted to achieve global permeation of the 'Durastream' brand, which further increases quality and safety'".

SSCT will aim in future for growth as a company that can also contribute locally by establishing a solid position in India, the Middle East, and ASEAN as a core CPVC business of the Sekisui Chemical Group.
