  1. 1950

    Cellophane tape becomes
    an essential item for repair

    Following WWII, the Company focused on the adhesive tape attached to envelopes brought to Japan by the U.S. army, which the Company researched before achieving practical use of the tape. The Company had developed adhesive and coating-related technologies. Due to the poor quality of goods available during this time, cellophane tape was an incredibly convenient resource for repairing broken and torn items, and it became an essential item in homes and offices.

  2. 1952

    Lightweight and durable PVC pipes ESLON Pipes

    The workability of lightweight and rustproof PVC ESLON pipes was substantially increased by the development of joints in 1955, and they rapidly became a popular item. Since then, they have supported the foundations of life and society through use in a wide range of fields, including water supply and drainage, water and sewer services, as well as electricity, gas, and industrial plants.

  3. 1962

    Resolving urban garbage problems! Poly-Pail plastic garbage container

    With the Olympic Games just two years away, the Tokyo Metropolitan government adopted a new garbage collection system whereby each household would places its garbage in a Poly-Pail outside the house for collection. SEKISUI CHEMICAL began "cleaning the city" as 15-year anniversary campaign not only to promote Poly-Pail sales but also to raise awareness among consumers of garbage issues. This activity was the start point for CSR management in which "a contribution is made to society through business."

  4. 1971

    Responding to the increased demand for housing in a period of rapid economic growth SEKISUI HEIM M1

    SEKISUI HEIM used prefabricated modules with a factory production rate of more than 80% to achieve high cost-performance while also being high quality and high performance. Much attention was received from the Japanese housing industry, which had been urged to supply reasonably priced but high-quality housing, and it wasn't long before SEKISUI HEIM became one of the leading pre-fab housing manufacturers.

  5. 1985

    Unbreakable plastic vacuum-blood collection tubes Insepack

    In 1979, a medical project was launched to engage in product development in the field of clinical dianostic reagents. In 1985, the world's first plastic vacuum blood collection tubes were launched. The unbreakable but burnable tubes greatly contributed to the improvement of hygiene in medical locations.
