Daiichi Pure Chemicals Launches Fully Automated Blood Coagulation Analyzer "Coapresta© 2000"

Daiichi Pure Chemicals Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Shin-ichiro Ashida; hereinafter referred to as "Daiichi Pure Chemicals") of the Sekisui Chemical Group has launched sale of its fully automated blood coagulation analyzer "Coapresta© 2000" on Wednesday, January 24.

Daiichi Pure Chemicals launched their first fully automated blood coagulation analyzer in November 1999, and has since contributed to the field of medical treatment with its "Test Team" and "Nanopia" series coagulation ailment reagents. In response to countless requests received from customers, Daiichi Pure Chemicals has capitalized on its strength in developments on both the areas of reagent and analysis devices with the aim of producing not an improved version of existing devices, but a next-generation blood coagulation analyzer. This led to the development of "Coapresta© 2000," a device that embodies the concepts of high functionality, compactness and ease of operation.

Principal features of the device include the following:
  • Capable of handling the three measurement principles of coagulation time, synthetic substrate and latex nephelometry methods
  • Capable of high-speed processing at a maximum rate of 400 tests/hour
  • Equipped with automatic switching function of calibration curves
  • First blood coagulation analyzer ever to use "QR code"

In particular, the sample and reagent dispenser (probe) feature the high functionality and precision equivalent to an automatic biochemical analyzer. In addition, the combination of "QR code" and the touch panel frees the user from cumbersome keyboard input or the risk of typing errors, enabling realization of a simple and precise input of analysis information.

The device is manufactured by Shimadzu Corporation (President: Shigehiko Hattori; Head Office: Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto) and sold by Daiichi Pure Chemicals. The sales forecast is for 100 units in the first year and plans are in place for expansion to overseas markets.
The domestic sales structure has been strengthened by tie-up with Beckman Coulter, Inc. (President: Masato Hisano, Head Office: Koto-ku, Tokyo).
