Initiatives of the Sekisui Chemical GroupTraffic safety courses in Thailand

Sekisui Specialty Chemicals (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (SSCT) established a new plant in Rayong district of Thailand in August 2015. Since launching operations, the new plant has put an effort into participating in social contribution activities.

According to a 1 December 2015 survey by the World Health Organization (WHO), Thailand has the world’s second highest traffic accident mortality rate and has the highest traffic accident mortality rate in ASEAN. Accordingly, one of SSCT’s goals as part of its fiscal 2016 CSR policy is to improve local traffic safety.

Driver licenses can be obtained from the age of 15 in Thailand and it is vital to have knowledge in safe driving as early as possible. We accordingly held a safe driving workshop at a local junior high school and donated 150 helmets to the school. Lecturers presented discussions at the seminar on laws of the road, technologies, and driver attitudes. SSCT will continue to contribute to the local community.
