On October 22nd 2017, in difficult weather conditions, the SEKISUI CHEMICAL Female Running Team competed in the qualification heat for the All Japan Corporate Womens Ekiden* Competition 2017 in Fukuoka.

*An Ekiden or long distance relay race is a popular race type in Japan. In this case, 6 runners ran various distances to make up a total 42.2km (full marathon).

Our team came in 4th place and successfully qualified for the final event which will take place in Sendai on November 26th. Congratulations to the 6 runners, their management team and coaches.

Approximately 200 employee supporters also braved the harsh weather to cheer the ladies on. A sincere thank you to all who made the effort to support this event whether on the sidelines or through TV screens.
