Notification concerning Impact of the Tohoku-Area Pacific Coast Earthquake

We sincerely express our deepest sympathy to all those who suffered due to the Tohoku-Area Pacific Coast Earthquake, which occurred on March 11, 2011.

We will report hereunder the current status of the production bases of SEKISUI CHEMICAL CO., LTD. and the Group companies after the earthquake.

1. The Status of Damages and Response
As for the production bases of SEKISUI CHEMICAL CO., LTD. and the Group companies in the Tohoku and Kanto areas, although we haven't suffered serious damages to our production facilities, partial production discontinuation and production adjustment are being carried out due to difficulties in shipment of materials and products under stagnation of distribution, impact of planned outage, etc.

2. Safety Confirmation of Employees
Concerning safety of employees of SEKISUI CHEMICAL CO., LTD. and the Group companies, we have not been able to confirm the safety of some employees. We will continue efforts toward confirmation.

3. Impact on Business Performance
The amount of damages and the impact on business performances caused by the earthquake are not clear at present. We will inform you promptly if any serious impact is anticipated in the future.
