Announcement of the Development of a New Brand in Our PVOH resin business

Sekisui Chemical Corporation (President: Naofumi Negishi) will change the brand name of our PVOH resin to SELVOL from October 1st. The logo will also be redesigned.
The PVOH business was acquired from Celanese Corporation in July 2009 and until now the previous name CELVOL was used.

Initially, the primary purpose of the PVOH acquisition was to secure a steady supply of raw material for our interlayer film business. The production of the PVOH grade for interlayer film for laminated glass is presently going well, and since production for our company's use is also stable, a shift of operating resources to strengthen our present PVOH business is being pursued.

From here on, we want to develop emerging markets that are expected to grow rapidly, speed up the expansion of specialty grade products, and put effort into strengthening our marketing and development departments.
The brand update is part of this, and we will work to strengthen expansion of the PVOH business while backing up the continuous growth of our interlayer film business.

Blue is used to match the Sekisui Chemical Group's image and it was designed as an image of PVOH products, a water soluble resin.
