| Overview of Event |
Since this was the first of these events to be held in Europe, a venue was provided that allowed the children to learn about ecology through activities that incorporated a high degree of fun and enjoyment. Based on the concept of "4R" (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rethink), the children engaged in activities divided into four groups. The four main programs were (1) composing rap music with ecological themes under the guidance of a professional rap musician, (2) thinking about environmental undertakings through the observation of nature in a national park, (3) a quiz in which participants competed based on their knowledge of ecology and (4) producing a studio and recording a play using ecological materials from recycled objects. The participants shared eco-messages from these activities.
The messages from the "SEKISUI Children's Eco Summit 2008 in Kyoto" were also delivered to promote shared awareness.

Messages from Participants in SEKSIUI Children's Eco Summit 2008
in Kyoto to Children in Europe
As fellow companions on the earth, we are sending this message to our companions in Europe. During the Global Children's Eco Summit 2008 in Kyoto, we studied about the largest lake in Japan, and concerning Sekisui's environmental efforts. Also, we discussed together and decided to take the following actions.

| |
- |
The environmental problem is our problem. We will continue to think seriously about it. |
 |
| |
- |
In order to save energy, we will take concrete actions such as dressing coolly in the summer and warmly in the winter and changing the temperature settings in air conditioners and heaters. |
 |
| |
- |
We will make an effort to use water and greenery wisely, and we will actively invite our family, friends and members of society to join us. |
 |
| |
- |
We will use 'Eco Bags' when shopping, and we will not buy products that waste resources. We will live smartly. |
 |
To the participants of the European Global Eco Summit:
Let us work together to do what we can to protect the earth.
