About "Manufacturing Based on Learning from Nature - Junior Forum 2008"
With the concept of "creating social value while responding to stakeholders' expectations" as its corporate philosophy, it is the aim of the Sekisui Chemical Group to contribute to society through our business activities and corporate attitude by emphasizing the environment, CS & quality and human resources in CSR management, and we hope to win the enduring trust of society at large. As one of our activities aimed at achieving contributions to society, we will be organizing the "Manufacturing Based on Learning from Nature - Junior Forum 2008" following on from last year's event. Details of the event have been finalized and are set out below.

Content
The forum will be divided into two parts: "Keynote Speech" and "Hands-on Experience Learning."
The event will provide children with an opportunity to enjoy the experience of taking part in research projects during the summer holidays and is intended to arouse in the children an interest in science courses and natural science.

Participants (Participation free of charge)
Applications will be accepted from 150 children within the 5th year primary school to 1st year middle school age range.

Dates and Venue
Dates: Doors will be opened for admittance at 12:30 pm, Tuesday, August 26, 2008 and the event will take place from 1:00 ~ 4:00 pm.
Venue: National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (HAL MIRAIKAN Hall and Conference rooms on the 7th floor)

Looking ahead to the next generation and with the aim of promoting the development of science and technology for the conservation of the global environment, SEKISUI CHEMICAL has organized the "SEKISUI CHEMICAL - Manufacturing Based on Learning from Nature Research Support Program" since FY 2002 with the goal of supporting the research activities of universities and research institutions actively applying their expertise in the basic sciences.
Additionally, last year, the year that marked the 60th anniversary of SEKISUI CHEMICAL, the company launched the "Manufacturing Based on Learning from Nature - Junior Forum" aimed at primary and middle school students who will shoulder the burden of the future.
