About SEKISUI What's New

Press Release

April 28, 2008
(Kleerdex,CO.,LLC)

Sekisui Chemical Group Company, Kleerdex, CO., LLC starts strong in first quarter 2008

Bloomsburg, PA, - Leading thermoplastic manufacturer Kleerdex, Co., LLC, manufacturer of KYDEX® thermoplastic sheet, shows strong growth in the first quarter of 2008. With the addition of a sixth line, two new product offerings and key new hires, the company continues to maintain a leadership role in the thermoplastic sheet industry.

On March 26th, Kleerdex launched a new extrusion line, enabling them to continue to provide outstanding service, short lead times and ensure on-time delivery.

Two new products strengthen and enhance the existing product line. KYDEX® FST meets existing FAR 25.853 (a), FAR 25.853(d) and smoke toxicity limits of Airbus ABD 0031 and Boeing D6-51377, making it fully compliant with all existing flame-smoke-toxicity requirements.

Kleerdex has also become the exclusive provider of Microban® antimicrobial product protection in thermoplastic sheet for the airline and healthcare industries. Microban® antimicrobial technology is infused into key aircraft components made from KYDEX sheet, such as tray tables, seat backs, lavatories and galley components to provide continuous antimicrobial protection against the growth of stain and odor causing bacteria. In the healthcare industry, medical device enclosures and protective wall coverings in hospitals and nursing homes also benefit from this protection. Other industries that can take advantage of KYDEX with Microban® protection include transportation and the store fixture market. Customers will find Microban® protection in KYDEX® T MB, KYDEX® XD MB, KYDEX® 150 MB, and KYDEX® 5555 MB products. As with all of their products, Kleerdex delivers these exciting new products in short runs, custom colors with quick lead times and high quality.

Supporting the product launches and manufacturing capabilities are some key new hires. They include Jim Arnet, Midwest Regional Sales Manager, Eric Vitunac, Director of Manufacturing and Jim Fazio as Quality Manager. The experience these hires bring to the organization will support Kleerdex's commitment to providing customers with the technical expertise and level of customer service they've come to expect from a leading thermoplastic sheet manufacturer.

"Our concentration on providing the highest possible customer service while developing innovative products has resulted in higher than average market growth over the past several years for Kleerdex, both domestically and internationally," says Jim Medalie, president. "We're really excited about these additions and look forward to continuing to provide our customers with the service and product enhancements they expect from the KYDEX® brand.
