Concomitant with the publication of the 65th Special Edition of the China Environmental News 2007, a press conference organized by the China Environmental News Company under supervision of the State Environmental Protection Administration was held on June 5 in the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing. Since 2002, when Sekisui fully launched business in China, Sekisui has been engaged in both business and CSR activities in China. As a step in this process, in September of last year, Sekisui collaborated with the "production of posters to announce promotion of a historical change of direction in environmental protection" organized by the State Environmental Protection Administration. In addition, Sekisui is active in making contributions to society such as the presentation of 500,000 plastic vacuum blood collection tubes to the Chinese Marrow Bank of the Red Cross Society of China, support of NPO activities carried out during the forestry revitalization project in the region of Datong City located in the Yellow Plateau and the establishment of a scholarship system for the young people who will shoulder the burden of the next generation in Suzhou and Qingdao.
